Located at the Sacramento Convention Center & Sheraton Grand Hotel, Sac-Anime is "Where fans come to play" this weekend (August 30-September 1) and will be the anime convention to be if you're a fan of video game actors like Nolan North and Troy Baker.
Known for voicing video game protagonists and not quite as known for accidentally condemning the residents of Dubai to a cruel death, Nolan North began his prolific voice acting career in 2007 when he voiced and motion capped Nathan Drake of the "Uncharted" series. Other games that he has voiced include "Call of Duty," Assassin's Creed," "Lost Planet," and Saints Row." Nolan North's animated voice over roles include "GI Joe: Renegades," "Ultimate Avengers," and "Regular Show." Nolan North will be at Sac-Anime to host panels and sign autographs this weekend.
In addition to Nolan North, voice actor Troy Baker has recently been popular among video game fans for his portrayal of and Joel in "The Last of Us" alongside Ashley Johnson as Ellie (who will also be at Sac-Anime this weekend) and Booker DeWitt in "BioShock Infinite." Troy will be at Sac-Anime this weekend on Saturday and Sunday only, but he will have his guitar to sing some songs for the attendees' enjoyment on Saturday.
Other guests of honor attending Sac-Anime this weekend include akai SKY, Johnny Yong Bosch with his band Eyeshine, Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario of "Super Mario Bros." fame), and Sumi Shiamoto (Japanese voice actress featured in "Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro," "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind," and various other classic anime).
Other features of Sac-Anime include swap meets, an artist alley, a dealers hall, various panels related to anime & video games, and the cosplay contest.
