Two local events are doing their part for some great causes this Saturday, July 13th. Brooklyn’s Bridge 5k and fun run is part of the Levelland Early Settlers Days. This event supports special needs children. The event kicks off with a 1k kids fun run at 8am. The 5k starts at 8:30am. Both events are held at the Mallet Event Center in Levelland. The cost for the kids fun run (ages 3-11) is $15 and includes a t-shirt and a medal. The cost for the 5k is $25 and includes a t-shirt.
The Palo Duro Hot Dog run is a 15k benefiting suicide prevention. This is a tough 15k that drops 1,000 ft into Palo Duro Canyon before climbing 800 feet in the last 1.2 miles. The race starts at 8am with race day packet pickup from 7am to 7:45am. The cost for this race is $50. You can even stick around for the post-race hot dog eating competition.
These two events are a great way to run and support our community at the same time.
