This weekend, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin head the 'Gangster Squad'

This weekend boasts several new theatrical releases, including the long-delayed “Gangster Squad” and a parody of “Paranormal Activity”. Plus, the recently Oscar-nominated “Zero Dark Thirty”, about the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, will be expanding to theaters everywhere. Read more about those movies below.

Gangster Squad”: This crime drama directed by Ruben Fleischer is set in late 1940s Los Angeles, where gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) practically runs the town. But police sergeant John O’Mara (Josh Brolin), wants to take him down, and enlists the help of other officers who plan to do anything it takes without regard to the law—including Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who has a thing for Cohen’s girl Grace (Emma Stone). Runtime: 113 minutes. Rated R for strong violence and language.

A Haunted House”: This comedy directed by Michael Tiddes stars Marlon Wayans as Malcolm, a man who moves with his wife Keisha (Essence Atkins) into their dream home. But a spirit haunted the house possesses Keisha, so Malcolm enlists the help of everyone from psychics to ghost busters to cure her—mainly to save his sex life. Runtime: 86 minutes. Rated R for crude and sexual content, language and some drug use.
