This Weekend: Rock takes back the world stage at Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, Saturday January 19th at 8 p.m. Headlining the beast of the ball is Jim Peterik. For anyone that is unsure who Peterik is, this is the guy that wrote and sang "Vehicle". The song "Vehicle" came about by an encounter with a girl with big beautiful blue eyes and knees socks that blew Peterik's young teen eyes in 1968. Peterik marriage the blue eyed heart breaker and happiness has permeated their atmosphere for the last 30 plus years.
In addition to the love sick hearts of musicians, its interesting to note that not everything sparks the mind of the creative. Its the unique things that cause you to take a pause. Its safe to say Peterik, Ides of March, Lisa McClowry, Dave Bickler of Survivor, Sijay, Jeff Adams of Starship, Anthony Gomes, Toby Hitchcock of Prides of Lions and Leslie Hunt have all paused since they mastered enough chords to write, play or sing rock songs.
You may also remember the song "Vehicle" was the same song use in the Sylvester Stallone's movie, "The Lockup". Stallone also used "Eye of the tiger" by Ides of March, for the Rocky movie. Peterik's band took a 17 year break and joined back up in 1990. Peterik and his merry band of music lovers have put the rock funk in many generations and they ain't stopping yet. Check out Jim Peterik World Stage this weekend at the Arcada Theatre, 105 East Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois, 630.962.2700, tickets $29 and up.
