Vino at Trios will be hosting a tasting of the wines from the Qupe' Winery this weekend. The Qupe' Winery specializes in Rhone-style wines and sources its fruit from some of the best vineyards in the Central Coast, including the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria, the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in the Edna Valley, which are both farmed biodynamically, and the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in Los Olivos which is farmed organically.
One of my favorite wines from this vineyard is their Roussane, which is a white grape native to the Rhone Valley in France, and best known for its use in the white wines of Chatauneuf-du-Pape. The Roussane wine made by Qupe' is light, elegant and has a long lingering creamy citrus finish which reminds me of lemon meringue pie. They produce very nice Syrahs and Chardonnays also, but hopefully, they will be pouring their Roussane at this tasting.
Vino at Trios is located at 10 N. First Street in Alhambra, and the tasting is on Sunday, June 24 from 4pm to 7:30pm. Tickets costs $25.00 (plus 18% gratuity). Click here for more information about this event.
