This weekend on Long Island: Valentine's Day activities for kids

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th, but this weekend there are kid-friendly Valentine's themed activities and events spread across Long Island for your little ones to enjoy. The holiday isn't just for couples and there are plenty of ways for kids to celebrate and show their love for friends and family. Friday, February 10th

  1. 2:30-4pm: Create heart filled sun-catchers at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City- all ages
  2. 3:30pm: Jewelry making workshop to create beaded bracelets at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton- ages 8 and up
  3. 7:30-8:30pm: Make and decorate mini cupcakes at the Brentwood Library in Brentwood- ages 3 and up, with an adult

Saturday, February 11th

  1. 10-11am: Card-making workshop led by an art instructor at the Guild Hall in East Hampton- ages 6 to 9
  2. 10:30-11:30am: Interactive pet portrait workshop with children's author and pet portrait artist Beth Weiner Lipson at Just Dogs Gourmet in East Northport (a bakery for dogs!)- all ages
  3. 5-7pm: Chocolicious Spa Party with chocolate facials and pedicures, candy-scented manicures, sparkling heart tattoos, heart-shaped sandwiches, and make-your-own sundaes at Darlings and Divas of Amityville- preschoolers and up

Sunday, February 12th

  1. 3-4pm: The culture of chocolate lesson with stories and tastings at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City-ages 5 and up
