“Labor Day”: Directed by Jason Reitman, this drama follows single mom Adele (Kate Winslet) and her son Henry (Gattlin Griffith), who offer a strange injured man named Frank (Josh Brolin) a ride, and eventually shelter in their home. It turns out Frank is an escaped convict, and things get complicated when Adele learns the truth about his past as the police close in. Runtime: 111 minutes. Rated PG-13 for thematic material, brief violence and sensuality.
“That Awkward Moment”: This comedy written and directed by Tom Gormican centers around three best friends: Jason (Zac Efron), Daniel (Miles Teller), and Mikey (Michael B. Jordan). All of them are involved in complicated stages of relationships, forcing them to figure out where they’re supposed to go from here. Runtime: 94 minutes. Rated R for sexual content and language throughout.
