When the weekend is approaching and you're looking for something to do, where can you find what is going on in Kansas City? Every Thursday you'll find the weekend listing right here, and today is no different. Here is what's going on this weekend.
If you're feeling hungry, Kansas City Restaurant Week starts up in full swing tomorrow, and you can find a listing of the restaurants participating here.
For the movie lovers, there are three, yes, three different events going on at Alamo Drafthouse. If you want to get a jump on the weekend, you can stop in tonight for a screening of 'Team America: World Police' as part of the quote along series. Also a part of this event, you can end the weekend right with 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', Sunday at 8 p.m. quoting all the best lines. If the quote along isn't your style, come down Friday for the KCAI Film school brought to you by the Kansas City Art Institute. For $5, watch 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' and discuss afterwards with others in attendance.
The kids deserve to paint the town red just as much as their parents. For the munchkins, there is 'The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley', showing at the Starlight Theatre. Make the weekend one to remember by taking your children to Sesame Street Live at Sprint Center. When asking a local six year old about the show, "ELMO!" was the only response he could muster. Tickets start at $13.
Sports events are slim this weekend, but you can still catch something. The Missouri Comets take on the Rochester Lancers after a loss to Wichita last weekend. Will the Comets be able to give the crowd a win Saturday? You'll have to purchase tickets here to find out.
