Fall has begun, and with it, a glimpse of cool days, cooler nights, cozy fires, family gatherings and of course, the upcoming holiday season. To celebrate the season, Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the Nashville Symphony have invited us all – the entire community – to a whole day and night of free musical performances at the symphony center.
There will be fun for the entire family, including the Kids’ Zone, featuring an instrument petting zoo, crafts and much more. Throughout the day, there will be 20 acts on 4 stages, performing classical, pop, jazz and tons more.
There is even free parking in Lot R at LP Field, including free shuttle services for those who don’t delight in walking across the gorgeous Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, running from the lot to the center from noon until 10 p.m.
Just remember that on that same day, Saturday, September 28, there will be several road closures downtown until 12:30 p.m, due to the Women’s Half-Marathon and 5K, so parking downtown may be scarce. So, instead of fighting the traffic, simply park in Lot R of LP Field, then hop a free shuttle or mosey your way across the bridge on foot, it leads right to the Symphony Center! If you must park downtown, Schermerhorn recommends parking south of Demonbreun Street; the building will be accessible by foot via the intersection at 3rd Ave. S. & Demonbreun St.
