This weekend: Find the blues in and around Atlanta January 31-February 2, 2014

Well, it's sort of hard to think about the weekend and going out in a normal fashion after the week we have had but by Friday evening the snow and ice should be mostly gone and this weekend it's supposed to be in the 60's so we can all get out and listen to some blues and celebrate surviving Atlanta's Snowpocalypse!

And on that note and off topic, I am collecting stories from the event. Were you snowed out? Did you help those who were? Did you find shelter or provide shelter? If you want to share your stories in a book or ebook, please email me at starmac@bellsouth.net.

Now to where to find the blues this weekend. This is what is scheduled but be advised to check with the clubs to make sure nothing has been changed.

Friday, Houserocker Johnson and the Shadows are at Blind Willie's. The Dan Sheffield Band is at Darwin's in Marietta and The Randall Bramlett Band is at Eddie's Attic. Billy George is at Fat Matt's and Little G Weevil is at Nik's Place in Marietta. Michelle Malone has a CD release party at the Red Light Cafe with Steed Kettles. Chicago Joe has a student jam at Tin Roof Cantina.

Saturday, Francine Reed & The Shadows are at Blind Willie's and Mudbone Turner is at Darwin's. The Frankie Miller Group are at Fat Matt's and Little G Weevil and Tamara Nicolai are at Gulf Coast Grill in Suwanee. The Cazanovas are at Loco's in Alpharetta and Scott Glazer's Mojo Dojo is at Northside Tavern.

Sunday, the Billy George Duo hosts the blues brunch at Cypress Pint & Plate. Tony Bryant is at Fat Matt's and Little G Weevil is at Nik's Place and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern.
