Well, the weather has been dreary in the Atlanta area for the last week with nothing but rain and grey skies, but that is perfect weather to take yourself out to the clubs to listen to some live blues and forget your cares for a while! Here's the blues lineup this week:
Friday, Darwin's has The Little G Weevil Band for your entertainment. Houserocker Johnson performs at Blind Willie's while 38th Parallel is at Fat Matt's and Stoney Brooks is at Northside Tavern. Men in Blues take the stage at Hottie Hawgs.
Also on Friday, there is a House Party IBC Fundraiser for the Cazanovas at the Isa Manse at 511 Edgewood Ave, SE,. Admission is free but it is a fundraiser so plan to donate! Also, note that it is a house party and not a bar. They hope to have as many people at the event as possible, so you will be welcome. This event begins at 8:30 pm.
Saturday, Blind Willie's hosts Delta Moon. Fat Matt's has the Stooge Brothers, and Darwin's has The Hollidays for Jake Holliday and Terry Matlock's birthday show! The Breeze Kings are at Northside Tavern. Men in Blues are at Craze Tavern at 3312 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Duluth.
Sunday, the Atlanta Blues Society has its monthly meeting and jam at Nik's Place in Marietta. It's a great time to come out and join if you haven't already and stand up for the blues in Atlanta! Mike Bourne and Atlanta Boogie will be the hosts this month. The meeting starts at 3 pm.
There is an IBC Fundraiser on Sunday at Atnhony's Pizza. This will benefit The Georgia Flood, Little G Weevil and 38th Parallel to help pay their expenses as they go to Memphis to represent Atlanta at the International Blues Challenge. No cover charge but plan to donate!
Also Sunday, the fabulous Francine Reed is at The Family Dog, Fat Back Deluxe is at Fat Matt's, and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern.
