What a great weekend for the blues this is! I already told you about "The History of the Blues at Darwin's in Marietta Saturday and the Benefit for Chick Willis at Blind Willie's on Sunday, but let's talk about those again as well as the other great events happening around town.

Friday, The Truett Lollis Trio do a rare weekend appearance at Darwin's, where they also play on Mondays, which is bound to delight their many fans. Sandra Hall is at Blind Willie's and Rough Draft is at Fat Matt's. Reynolds and Williams perform at Nik's Place in Marietta. Men in Blues are at Hemingway's in Marietta.

Saturday, there's that great History of the Blues event at Darwin's with Eddie Tigner, Matt Wauchope, and Bob Page on piano and Little G Weevil and Adam Goodhue accompanying them on guitar and drums. Meanwhile, while not exactly blues, Drivin' and Cryin' are at 120 Music Hall and Tavern and I would be remiss not to let you know that! Big Bill Morganfield returns to Blind Willie's and continues to uphold his musical heritage and do his father, Muddy Waters, proud. Ron Cooley and The Hard Times perform at Fat Matt's. Men in Blues are at Hemingway's in Marietta again.

Sunday, of course the big news is the benefit for Chick Willis at Blind Willie's with The Breeze Kings, Roy Lee Johnson, Randie Flame, The Georgia Flood, Francine Reed, Sandra Hall, Sweet Betty, and a whole lot more great musicians for $10 at the door. It begins at 2 pm.

Also Sunday, Eddie's Attic celebrates Black History with Francine Reed, Tony Bryant is at Fat Matt's and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern.

That's it. It's going to be incredible. Get out, have some fun, and celebrate amazing live Atlanta blues. Keep on bluesin'!
