Hpefully the roads are all cleared by tomorrow and everyone can get out and celebrate Valentine's Day weekend with their loved ones! And there's no better place to celebrate love of spouses, sweethearts, friends and/or music than the following great blues clubs!
Here we go:
Friday, Sandra Hall is at Blind Willie's. Mile Train is at Darwin's in Marietta and The Johnny Scales Trio is at Fat Matt's. Stoney Brooks is at Northside Tavern and The Larry Griffith Band is at Two Urban Licks. Chicago Joe has a student jam at Tin Roof Cantina.
Saturday, Little G Weevil Band is at Darwin's. I hear lots of people are reserving tables so you might want to try to do that (it's free if there are any left.) Delta Moon visits Blind Willie's and Sly Dogs are at Fat Matt's. Mojo Hand is at Nik's Place in Marietta and The Breeze Kings are at Northside Tavern. The Larry Griffith Band is at Two Urban Licks for a second night and Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings are at Variety Playhouse. There is a benefit show for Good Ole' Days in Cumming, which had an electric fire. The benefit will be to pay wages to the employees while they are out of work. The benefit is at Sawnee Mountain Music in Cumming.
Sunday, the Atlanta Blues Society has a meeting at Blind Willie's. This is the annual membership meeting so it is a great time to join or renew your memebership. The host band will be The Sweet and Salty Blues Band. The Billy George Duo hosts the blues brunch at Cypress Pint & Plate and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern. Little G Weevil does a solo stint at Nik's Place and Tony Bryant is at Fat Matt's. Set It Off is at Two Urban Licks for brunch.
That's it for this week! Be safe, have fun and keep on bluesin'! And happy Valentine's Day!
