Saturday, I want to take the short step from blues to Southern rock to tell you about Jimbo Mathus and TSC at The Star Bar. I just got Mathus' new CD "Dark Night of the Soul" to review and it is amazing so I want you to know about this show. Mathus is a former Squirrel Nut Zipper and member of the North Mississippi Allstars and someone you should hear if you haven't already.

Also Saturday, Sandra Hall is at Blind Willie's and Jimmy Hall has a birthday Bash with Jimmy Hall and Friends and Lil Al's Soul Funk Revival just a short road trip away in Macon at the Cox Capital Theatre. The Isaac Bramblett Band is at Darwin's and The Sweet and Salty Band is at Fat Matt's. Count M'Butu and The Mar-Tans play the Inman Park Festival and JP Blues is at Moonshadow Tavern in Tucker. The Marty Manous Band is at Nik's Place in Marietta. Johnny Scales continues at Two Urban Licks.
Sunday, Boz Scaggs comes to Atlanta Symphony Hall. The Billy George Duo hosts the blues brunch at Cypress Street Pint & Plate and Fat Back Deluxe is at Fat Matt's. Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern and the Atlanta Blues Society has its monthly meeting & jam at Greater Good BBQ with music from Stephen "TheBluesDude" Duncan, Veronika Jackson and Brandon Reeves. The Electromatics and Jimmy Hall and Friends play at the Inman Park Festival. Little G Weevil is at Nik's Place and Locals in Acworth has a Sunday Night Jam. Roger "Hurrican" Wilson & The Shufflejunkies are at Taste of Marietta.
