Summer in Chicago is synonymous with the city’s many neighborhood festivals, and this weekend is no exception with the Do Division Street Fest. Located in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, the festival kicks off Friday, May 30, at 5 p.m. and ends on June 1. The festival includes plenty of music and food, as well as family-friendly activities on Saturday and Sunday. Mini golf, face painting and pony rides are just some of the events planned for kids and parents this year.
If you’re in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, then make Festival del Taco part of your weekend plans. This is the festival’s first year, and it will include food, music, arts and crafts and other fun activities. The event is located at 2600 S. Kostner in Chicago and starts at 6 p.m. on May 30 and ends on June 1.
When you think of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, you likely think of hiking trails and picnic spots. But did you know the preserves also have swimming pools? If you're looking for other swimming pools to visit, then keep the Niles Park District in mind. The Oasis Fun Center (7877 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles) will have a pre-season beginning May 31. The center features water slides and a splash area, and season pool passes are available for sale.
