One of the places to see and hear some great jazz this weekend will be at UCLA's Royce Hall. On Friday, February 10 at 8pm, legendary trumpeter Hugh Masekela will play his music that is known around the world. He is probably best known for his hit 'Grazing in the Grass'. He is an outstanding musician and humanitarian. You can get information and tickets by visiting UCLA Live. Tickets are $20 and for UCLA students they are $15.
The Ravi Coltrane Quartet and the Christian Mc Bride Trio is offered by the UCLA Live series also at Royce Hall for an 8pm show on Saturday, February 11. Ravi is the son of Alice and John Coltrane. The latter is one of the giants in jazz music. Bassist Christian McBride has worked with the likes of Stiing, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny and John McLaughlin. He was nominated for a 2011 Grammy.
