Combine a top Chicago area destination with beautiful photography, fine sculptures and clever crafts and you have the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival taking place this weekend July 6-7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Look for bright red, pink and yellow sculptures and butterflies, gorgeous landscapes and sparkling jewelry on the lawn and walkways between the education/display building and the scenic lake that has a high-spouting fountain. There you will find 85 artists specifically chosen to complement the Botanic Garden's themes.
The art fair starts at 10 a.m. but the Botanic Garden’s café and walkways open at 7 a.m. So combine the art fair with a visit to its rose, Japanese, English and more than 20 other specialty gardens and natural areas. They draw about one million visitors each year.
