What were you doing last Sunday morning? Sleeping in? Enjoying your coffee while web surfing or reading the Sunday paper? Headed out the Garden or Home show? Perhaps you were one of a few thousand cyclists who were up early and on the Seattle-to-Bainbridge ferry for the Chilly Hilly. Traditionally, this last Sunday in February is the Cascade Bicycle Club's kick off the to cycling season here in the Northwest.
We are starting to emerge from the darkest days of winter and it's time to start gearing up for your spring and summer activities. Start working out the kinks at one of the events happening this weekend.
Fun Run
Join the Hot Chocolate 15/5k run around Seattle on Sunday, March 3. Yes there will be Hot Chocolate and this run benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska.
Cycling
Cascade Bicycle Club - Daily rides open to the public
The CBC is offering seventeen rides this weekend from easy to brisk, 5 miles to 50. If you’ve been wanting to get your body and bike out for a spin, join one of the 9 rides on Saturday or 8 rides on Sunday.
Hiking
Issaquah Alps Trails Club - free hikes open to the public
There will be three organized hikes this weekend. Two Saturday and one on Sunday. Hike the Tolt River or join the Squak Mtn. hike to the Bullitt fireplace along the Central Peak Trail. See the website for more details.

The Mountaineers - 2 outings free with guest membership

organization has been leading outdoor education and adventures.
