It is the first weekend of the New Year. We made it to another year. What a blessing! As we reflect on the previous year, we may also take time to create new resolutions for this year. Some may want to exercise more while others intend on spending more time with family and friends. So which one will it be for me; the former or the latter? This year is all about family! So, here are some family-friendly activities.
Head to Centennial Olympic Park for outdoor family fun at its ice skating rink; $10 includes admission to the rink and skates. Ice skating is a fun and healthy activity that brings family and friends together for the winter season. For details visit http://www.centennialpark.com/
Conyers Pavilion is the location of the only Outdoor/Indoor Ice skating in the Southeast! The rink and the little town of Conyers are full of lights and holiday cheer. For info visit http://www.icedays.com/
Other events include…
The Winter Wonderland continues at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The holiday-inspired exhibition, which twinkles with lights and color, features trees and other displays decorated by local cultural partners.
You can take a tour of the historic Auburn Curb Market at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market tour located on Auburn Avenue in Downtown Atlanta. There are an abundance of fine meats, produce, breads and my favorite, desserts. The tour is held every first Saturday in the month.
And finally, for sports lovers…
The Atlanta Hawks host the Boston Celtics at Phillips Arena. For tickets, go to http://www.ticketmaster.com/
Be sure to log onto www.examiner.com every weekend to see what’s happening…
