It’s 5:45 PM, on Monday May 12, and Rocket Rookie, Katie Allaire is waiting on the park bench. The enthusiasm displayed the next few minutes was a pleasure to the ear and all you needed to know about the player.
Our season open had us facing Carline;
Ines Luis, who last played for us in 2000, provided a 3/3 evening with three singles, a run scored and two driven in.
Christian Dubuc, making her inaugural start with the team, collected three singles, and one run knocked in.
Veteran Rocket, Nance Purdon also chipped in with three singles to top off a 16 hit attack from the offense.
Our roster is filled with talented and experienced players from a defensive standpoint.
We made some uncharacteristic errors leading to six unearned runs, five of which coming in innings 1 and 2.
Our offense sputtered the last four innings as we were unable to score in forcing pressure on our opponent.
We go on to lose the game 12-4

Thursday March 15 vs. RLS
We came out with our hitting shoes on this one!
Katie led off by dialing long distance to LF to stake us to a 1-0 lead. Purdon and Christiane singled. Nancy reached on an error scoring Purdon, 2-0. Kizz(ie) ( No “Y”), Ines, Tracey, and Lisa reached base allowing us to score five runs in the first.
The team produced eight extra base hits including three doubles, a triple, while Katie, and Kizz(ie) punctuated the offense with three homers.
Our defense was smooth as a baby’s complexion. We allowed 15 hits, but only one double. This gem forced the outfield in making two putouts the whole match.
That kind of effort can only mean one thing.
