This week families can take part in a special project being run by local group Queens Memory, in which they are encouraged to share any personal photos and/or stories about their lives in Queens. Other events taking place this week include an infant story time session at Forest Hills library, a video game exhibit at the Astoria Museum of the Moving Image, Spanish dance classes in Astoria, and much more!
Mother Goose Mondays: Feb. 10 at 10 a.m.
Description: Infants get to enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and movement games while their parents get to socialize.

Queens Memory in Court Square: Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.
Description: Come and share your favorite photos and memories about Queens! Make your memories become a part of Queens' history, by getting your photos digitized for free. Queens Memory staff will scan your photographs, postcards, and other local memorabilia, in order for it to become part of the "Queens: Neighborhood Stories" page on Historypin down below. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also call or register online to make an appointment.

Indie Essentials-25 Must-Play Video Games: Feb. 12-March 02, 2014 during museum hours
Description: This is an exhibit being held at the Astoria Museum of the Moving Image, in which 25 playable and independently produced video games will be presented, in order to introduce museum-goers to the "indie" video game scene. The games will include some of the latest winners of the 2013 IndieCade: International Festival of Independent Games awards. The designers and developers of these games are working outside of the large studios and publishers in order to take creative risks towards enhancing their products; all games in the exhibition are free to be played.

Winter 2014 Flamenco and Spanish dance classes in Astoria: Feb. 10-March 24, 2014 at variable hours
Description: The American Bolero Dance Company Spanish Dance School will be offering a variety of classes in Flamenco and Spanish Dance for both kids and adults. The school will teach its own unique dance style, according to an age-based curriculum, that combines elements of Flamenco, Ballet, Spanish Classical, Regional Folk and Character Dance. Castanets are also taught as part of students' regular lessons. Performing opportunities are available for more serious students; both private and semi-private instruction is available upon request.
