This Week on YouTube: Rynal Grant captures footage of the Hattiesburg tornado

Rynal Grant went from ordinary to semi-viral when his vide of the Hattiesburg tornado caught CNN's eye. The media outlet not only gathered information from Rynal's account of the storm, but also featured his video during their televised coverage of the natural disaster. "This is just me feeling out because my video went semi viral on CNN, lol," said Rynal after seeing his video on TV and sharing the moment with YouTube fans.

According to Grant, there was a loud sound like that of a freight train before the power went out. "I was at work when I heard what sounded like a 'freight train,'" said the YouTuber. "The power went out in the small building I was in. So I went outside to take a look. What I saw drove me to urgency. I gathered my things and made my escape to a more structurally sound part of the hotel where I work. Then I got the bigger picture, so I pulled out my Handy Cam and the rest is history."

The Hattiesburg tornado took place on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Dozens were injured in the storm but, miraculously, no one was killed. The residents of the Mississippi town are currently in the process of cleaning up the mess the disaster left behind. Hattiesburg has a population of just over 50,000 residents.
