This week in Las Vegas, vampires, b-ball and the mob
- Vicki Pettersson will sign her latest book at the Barnes & Noble on Rainbow Boulevard on Thursday. The former "Folies Bergere" showgirl will focus on her latest, "The Lost, Celestial Blues, Book Two" as well as be available to sign some of her other New York Times bestselling titles, which include "The Taken." She will also have a purely social java and jaw time carved out from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Don't expect her to sign any books until 7 p.m., though. She is a great talker, and listener. Fans love her for this.
- On Wednesday, former NBA referee Tim Donaghy will open up about his position in a mob influenced betting scandal. Donaghy will discuss and take questions at the Mob Museum starting at 6:30 p.m. He will also sign copies of his book, "Personal Foul," following the Q&A, which is usually lively at these regular museum events. It will cost $29 to be in on this event, or $24 if you are a member of the museum. If that's too rich for your blood, Donaghy will duck into the Mob Museum Tuesday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. Go to the Mob Museum's site for admission info or to reserve a seat.
- Also on Wednesday, Cassandra Clare will sign copies of her "Clockwork Princess" at the Rainbow Boulevard Barnes & Noble. Get there well before the 7 p.m. signing time as wristbands and books bought at the Rainbow Barnes & Noble are required.
