Sustain Your Rain: March 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Description: This workshop, to be presented by the Horticultural Society of New York, will teach attendees about New York City's water supply. The class will show how water flows from the watershed into the city's many water faucets, and will teach about sustainable ways to water one's plants, collect rainwater, and reduce storm water runoff. Woodside Afternoon Composting and Weekly Food Waste Drop-off: March 5 at 5:15 p.m.
Description: Bring your frozen food scraps including fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds with paper filters, tea bags, egg and nut shells, bread and pasta with no toppings, to the weekly food waste drop-off site at Woodside library. Then watch your kitchen scraps be turned into a nutrient-rich compost to be used by various community gardens in Queens. Please don't bring any meat, dairy, bones or oily foods please!

3rd Annual Queens World Film Festival: March 6-March 8 at 6 p.m.
Description: This annual festival will screen 104 short films from around the world and from around Queens. Films will also be screened at three other locations including the Jackson Cinema in Elmhurst, Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, and the Secret Theater in Long Island City. The festival wishes to promote the works of both local and international filmmakers by positioning Queens as a destination for both filmmakers and film lovers.

Modern Spaces Presents "Celebrate LIC" at the Clock Tower: March 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Description: Modern Spaces will host a special event at the Clock Tower to celebrate the vibrant community of Long Island City through a curated art exhibit by "No Longer Empty". One particular display called "How Much Do I Owe You?" focuses on the conversation of currency, value, and exchange. Other displays will range from sound installations to large state sculptures.
