ONE

Heavy Mojo @ Vinyl
Thursday, July 3rd - 8pm

The latest edition of the Volt Music Series is this Thursday at Vinyl and like usual will feature a plethora of killer bands. Highlighting this Thursday night is local bad ass Heavy Mojo. Classic hip hop, ear blistering rock all wrapped up with a punk attitude, Heavy Mojo is a force to be reckoned with. Live they are in your face as they belt out tunes about Atlanta, the state of hip hop and ladies posteriors. Their sets are fast and furious leaving the crowds almost as tired as the band. These guys are a must see.

TWO

Dasher @ Drunken Unicorn
Wednesday, July 2nd - 9pm

In your face punk rock in on the bill as Atlanta’s purveyors of noise, Dasher, sets up shop at the Drunken Unicorn. With all the attitude and the music to back it up they harness the spirits of punk pioneers dishing out tunes that walk a thin line between music and chaos. Live is where they thrive as they bound around the stage like a group of kids that can’t sit still screaming their songs into the faces of the jacked audience. Check out their music then get to the intimate Drunken Unicorn for one hell of a night of music.

THREE

Slim Chicken’s Honkey Tonk Extravaganza @ Star Bar
Thursday, July 3rd - 8pm

This is one of the most entertaining evenings of music to ever go down in Atlanta. A weekly mainstay at the legendary Star Bar, the show is one like you have never seen before. The evening begins with a karaoke extravaganza as would be singers take the stage with a live band and belt out their favorite tunes. Once everyone has had their chance to display their wares a headlining band closes out the night. You never know who may show up but you can be guaranteed to have a good time.

FOUR

Ed Roland & the Sweet Tea Project @ Eddie’s Attic
Wednesday, July 3nd - 8pm

Collective Soul front man Ed Roland has made quite a splash with his side gig the Sweet Tea Project. Stepping away from the rock and roll vibe he has delivered an album of tunes with a rootsy flavor. This Wednesday Roland and crew will be at Eddie’s Attic for a night of tunes. Expect to hear tracks off the new record and maybe a few tunes from his other band. It should be a nice way to spend the middle of the week and ease into the long weekend.

FIVE

The Felice Brothers & Robert Ellis @ The EARL
Sunday, July 6th - 8pm

This is going to be a damn fine show as some of the best songwriters will be in attendance. The Felice Brothers will be doling out their folksy tinged tunes while Robert Ellis wows the crowd with his somber country music. Out supporting their latest record, Favorite Waitress, the Felice Brothers wear their influences on their sleeve. Of course it won’t be all about the new tunes, I am sure some of their classic songs will make the cut. Be sure to get there early because Robert Ellis is an incredible talent. He is able to capture life through his words as he warbles and plays his guitar. A great way to close out the weekend.
