Local Restaurant Week – Monday, October 21st through Sunday, October 27th at restaurants throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region. The 10th Restaurant Week celebration features meals for $20.13 – it could be lunch, dinner, a meal for one or a meal for two. Corks & Forks – Thursday, October 24th from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo. Benefitting the Heritage Centers, the event features numerous local restaurants, breweries and wineries, live and silent auction items and more. Tickets are $60 per person in advance, $65 at the door – find out more at www.heritagecenters.org.
Howl-O-Ween Hayrides – Saturday and Sunday, October 26th and 27th at the Buffalo Zoo, 300 Parkside Ave. in Buffalo from 4 to 7 p.m. The 17th annual event will feature treat stations, hayrides, games, apple cider and donuts – costumes are strongly encouraged for participation in the costume parade. Admission is $6 per person for Zoo members and $9 per person for non-members –get all the details at buffalozoo.org.
Halloween Trick or Treat – Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (formerly the Amherst Museum), 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst. Safe trick-or-treating for kids ages 3 to 12 at the Village’s 11 buildings; snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Registration is required, as times often sell out – Friday times are every 15 minutes from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday times are every 15 minutes from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for kids, $5 for adults and free for BNHV members – find out more at bnhv.org.
