M&T Third Friday – Friday, May 16th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Buffalo History Museum and the Resource Center at 459 Forest St. in Buffalo. Learn about the Pan American Exposition at the Resouce Center, and visit the Museum – learn more at buffalohistory.org.
Wine and Cheese Weekend – Friday through Sunday, May 16th through 18th at participating wineries in Lake Erie Wine County. Enjoy a cheese and wine pairing at each winery and receive a recipe booklet featuring all the recipes, as well as a commemorative wine glass. Hours are Friday noon to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; tickets are $35. Find out more at www.lakeeriewinecountry.org.
Day Out with Thomas – Friday through Sunday, May 16th through 18th at the Medina Railroad Museum, 530 West Ave. in Medina. This family-friendly event features Thomas the Tank Engine and Sir Topham Hatt in a 25-minute journey. Tickets are $19 and $21, and are available at railroadmuseum.net.
Tree Peony Festival of Flowers – Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th at Linwood Gardens, 1912 York Rd. in Pavilion. Linwood Gardens is a private residence with tree peonies dating back to 1940. A donation of $8 is suggested, and guided tours are available for $12 – visit www.linwoodgardens.org for more information.
Parkside Tour of Homes – Sunday, May 18th from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Parkside area featuring 10 homes. The event is held rain or shine, and the tour is not for children under 12; the self-guided tour begins at the Darwin Martin House, 125 Jewett Pkwy. Tickets are $20 in advance, $30 the day of the tour ($5 discount for Parkside Community Association members) – find out more at www.parksidebuffalo.org.
