NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens - Wednesday through Saturday, January 30th and 31st and February 1st and 2nd, at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. in Buffalo. The Gardens come alive at night with this exhibit of theatrical and interactive lighting displays. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. A Chocolate Affair – Thursday, January 31st from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hotel Lafayette’s Marquis De Lafayette Ballroom, 391 Washington St. in Downtown Buffalo. This 21-and-over event celebrates the chocolate with dessert samples, chocolate wine tastings, giveaways and more, to help support Hospice Buffalo. Sundays in the Cemetery: Census Records 101 – Sunday, February 3rd from 2 to 4 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. Guest speaker Rhonda Konig (Grosvenor Room Librarian, Central Library, Buffalo and Erie County Public Library) provides and introduction to using U.S. Federal Census records for genealogy research.
