NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens – Wednesday through Saturday, February 5th through 8th; hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays 6 to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 6 to 10 p.m. for adults, $8 for Garden members, seniors and students, $5 for kids 3 to 12, free for kids under 3 – get more information and tickets to both events at www.buffalogardens.com.

Sweet Charity – Thursday, February 6th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Asbury Hall (otherwise known as Ani DiFranco’s “Church at Babeville”), 341 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. Sweet Charity features local vendors offering samplings of the best in wine and beer tastings, coffee, desserts and hors d’oeuvres, and benefits the Food Bank of WNY. Tickets are $60 and are on sale now – purchase tickets and get more information at sweetcharityevent.com, or call 716-935-6677 (the Food Bank of WNY).

Buffalo Auto Show – Thursday through Sunday, February 6th through 9th at the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin St. in downtown Buffalo. Special guests during the show include NASCAR owner Richard Childress (Friday – 6 to 8 p.m.) and “Mr. October” Reggie Jackson (Saturday – 6 to 7:30 p.m. – fees apply). Trains Are Running! – Saturday and Sunday, February 8th and 9th at the Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Ct. in Buffalo from 1 to 4 p.m.; program runs on weekends (and selected other days) through February 23rd. Train display features 1900s replica model trains on more than 200 feet of track, plus a scale-model Erie Canal lock and 100 buildings representing 19th century Buffalo and Western New York. Sundays in the Cemetery – each Sunday in January, through April, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. This week’s lecture is “Stars and Stripes Forever” on February 9th. Cost is $15 per person per event – seating is limited, and reservations are required; visit www.forest-lawn.com or call 716-885-1600 for reservations.
