Fairgrounds Festival of Lights – now through Sunday, December 29th (selected dates) throughout the Fairgrounds (enter from South Park Ave.). The ninth annual festival features hundreds of light displays, reindeer carriage rides, the new, interactive Kids Game Show and much more. Gates are open from 5 to 9 p.m. (buildings and grounds are open until 10 p.m.); admission is $20 per carload, $25 for 15-passenger van or limo, and $50 per bus. Victorian Christmas – now through Saturday, December 14th at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural site, 641 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. Daily display hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The opening night silent auction and wine tasting on Friday, December 6th features entertainment by The Hot Club of Buffalo, wine and hors d’oeuvres plus auction items and theme baskets, and there will be luncheons throughout the event. Holiday Happening – Friday through Sunday, December 13th through 15th at participating wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail. Collect a different Nutcracker Ballet ornament at each winery you visit; tickets are good for all six days of the event and include a commemorative wine glass at your first winery, an ornament at each stop and three tastings at each winery you visit. Tickets are $40 per person or $70 per couple online, and are limited; find out more at www.niagarawinetrail.org.
Santa on the Carrousel – Saturday, December 14th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St. in North Tonawanda. Cost is $10 per person including lunch, $6 per person for after-lunch activities only – find out more here.
