Festival of Trees – now through Thursday, December 5th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Buffalo. The main holiday fundraiser for Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is in its 36th year and features beautiful displays of decorated trees, wreaths and mantle and window displays, as well as a boutique filled with holiday décor and gift ideas. Fairgrounds Festival of Lights – now through Sunday, December 29th (selected dates) throughout the Fairgrounds (enter from South Park Ave.). The ninth annual festival features hundreds of light displays, reindeer carriage rides, the new, interactive Kids Game Show and much more. Gates are open from 5 to 9 p.m. (buildings and grounds are open until 10 p.m.); admission is $20 per carload, $25 for 15-passenger van or limo, and $50 per bus. Holiday Shopping Spree – Friday through Sunday, December 6th through 8th at all 16 wineries on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Collect cookie cutters at each winery and put them on your grapevine wreath, included with your ticket; ticket also includes souvenir wine glass, holiday recipes and a shopper’s card good for $5 of off $35 wine purchase at each winery. Tickets are $40 per person or $60 per couple in advance, $45 per person or $65 per couple at the door; designated driver tickets also available. Visit cayugawinetrail.com for more information.

A Classical Christmas – Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th at Kleinhan’s Music Hall, 3 Symphony Circle in Buffalo; Friday’s show is at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday’s is at 8 p.m. Guest conductor Ron Spigelman and the Castellani Andriaccio Duo join the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to perform music from the Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Nutcracker and Handel’s Messiah, plus other holiday classics. The BPO is serving as a collection point for Toys for Tots – donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at the shows. Find out more at www.bpo.org.
