Erie County Fair – now through Sunday, August 17th at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. The 175th edition of the Fair features unique foods, lots of animals, music and magic, concerts from stars like Lady Antebellum (Wednesday, August 13th), and much more Fair fun. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+) and free for kids 12 and under; check the Fair’s website, www.ecfair.org, for discounts available throughout the event.
M&T Third Friday and Party on the Portico – Friday, August 15th at the Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Ct. in Buffalo. On the third Friday of every month, admission to the Buffalo History Museum, Resource Center, and select events are free for everyone. Once a month during the summer, the Museum hosts happy hour on the portico and steps, featuring music, snacks, cash bar and tours; cost for this 21-and-over event, scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is $5 for Museum members, $10 for non-members. Scottish Festival – Saturday, August 16th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst. Features traditional food and beverages, dancers, pipers, live music and the Highland Games. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for BNHV members and free for kids 12 and under – find out more at bnhv.org.
