Plagues

When you hear the word plague, the first thought that comes to mind is the plagues of Egypt that occurred because of Pharaoh’s lack of respect to God and how he treated God’s people in Exodus chapter 12.

The only thing that saved them was the blood of the lamb painted over their doorpost.

Exodus 12:3

Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

But it couldn’t be just any lamb. God had specified certain requirements.

Exodus 12:5

Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

And the same is true to this day. Not just any blood will save our souls. It must be the blood of the true Lamb of God.

1 Peter 1:18, 19

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Failure to obey God could bring an everlasting plague on your soul!

Revelation 22:18

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
