Name

Ephesians 3:14, 15

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Did you know that names are important to God? Names are so important that God named every family in heaven and on the earth. (Ephesians 3:14, 15) God also named the stars (Psalms 147:4) and the angels. (Judges 13:18)

Sometimes names were changed to give them a more prophetic meaning. Like in the case of Abram who was later changed to Abraham (Father of Nations) and Sarai later changed to Sarah (Mother of Nations) (Genesis 17:5, 6, 15, 16) We know that through their seed our savior was born. (Matthew1:1)

Our very own savior, Jesus Christ, was exalted after his sacrifice to the world for our salvation. He became the only Potentate, King of Kings, Lord of Lords (1 Timothy 6:15), Judge (John 5:22), High Priest (Hebrews 6:20), Ransomer (Matthew 20:28), The Captain of our Salvation (Hebrews 2:10). He has a name no one knows but himself (Revelation 19:11-16)

So if you call yourself a CHRISTIAN, know that this name bears much meaning.

First of all you are to be like the image of the one whose name you carry – Christ-like. Secondly know that earth is not your home. (John 14) You are heir to a priestly home with your heavenly family and brother Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:17

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
