This Tuesday April, 5, the City of Las Vegas will be holding its Primary Elections for the Office of Mayor and City Council seats.

In all, 18 candidates are running for the office of Mayor and the top two vote getters will move on to the General Election on June 7, assuming that no one candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote in the Primary.

This Primary Election appears to be a fight for second place, with Carolyn Goodman (wife of current Mayor Oscar Goodman) leading the pack. There are currently a little more than 220,000 registered voters within the voting boundaries, and the city is hoping for at least 50,000 votes to be cast.

Polling numbers taken 8 weeks ago (top five):

  • Carolyn Goodman: 36%
  • Larry Brown: 16%
  • Chris Giunchigliani: 13.5%
  • Steve Ross: 6%
  • Victor Chaltiel: 4.8%
