This Saturday, Lake Compounce www.lakecompounce.com located on Lake Avenue in Bristol Connecticut is opening for the 2014 summer season. This summer season highlights a rooster of new attractions at Lake Compounce the oldest continuous operating amusement park in the United States. One attraction opening soon at the park is the highly anticipated campground called Bear Creek.
Bear Creek Campground www.campbearcreek.com is expected to open on July 1, 2014 and will consist of 20 fully-furnished cabins, 56 RV sites equipped with water and electricity, 30 tent sites and 5 tipis that will sleep 4 to 5 people. There will be discounted park admission tickets for campers as well as a laundry room and 24-hour restaurant. The camp

Lake Compounce has also teamed up with Pink’s Hot Dogs, www.pinkshollywood.com the wildly popular mom and pop hot dog stand that started in 1939 in Hollywood. Pink’s Hot Dogs is a favorite of celebrities from movie stars to chefs that offers their patrons over 30 varieties of hot dogs to choose from and for the first time will be served at Lake Compounce. Pink’s Hot Dogs will debut for the first time on the East Coast on May 17th. To kick off this grand opening, there will be a Wiener Dog 100 race with Dachshunds racing for the title of the “Fastest Hot Dog”.
Also new to the park this year is a magical laser light show called Illuminate the Night that will begin on July 4. This light show extravaganza will light up the night sky through August 24 on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
