This Saturday: Monroe’s very own, Garlic City, will join Jerry’s Bones—the four-piece jam band from Claremont, NC—at The Bathtub Gin—a Mooresville music mainstay for Jerry’s Bones, and a favorite for many who frequent this one-of-a-kind music venue and bar.

This event, which is located on Main Street, in the heart of Downtown Mooresville, will begin at 9:00 p.m. Doors will be open, prior, which makes this venue a nice place to enjoy a drink and to be social with friends, prior to enjoying a great show.

Most who have frequented Jerry’s Bones’ appearances—pretty much—know what to expect: A mix of classic and more recent cover songs, with a great mix of their unique, original songs, from its collection of funk-groove and rock hybrid-styled genre—all of which have proven to yield a little something for many a music lover.

This Saturday’s event will be one of many stops, in part of the Jerry’s Bones’ “Movin’ On” Tour, which began in early 2014, and continues to support the release of the group’s 2014 debut album, “Movin’ On.”

As for Garlic City, the group is made up of Elliott Simpson, Bayley Courtland, Mark Eckart, and Brodie Cole. Originally, Garlic City became one, as a result of joining Simpson’s solo group, “Garlic Farm,” with Cole’s solo group, “Skyscraper City.”

Garlic City continues to raise the bar on its redefined musical style and creativity, through a motto the group refers to as: “Saying so much in so few words.” Seemingly, the combination of the group’s motto and hard work enables the group to continue producing a—like-no-other—style of Alternative music, with a great deal of expression to go with.

Interestingly enough, Jerry’s Bones and Garlic City were both named by CBS Local as (Two of the five selected in 2013) the “Best Local Rock Bands In Charlotte. Shortly after, Garlic City released a free downloadable 7” Demo CD. The Demo CD contains two of the group’s famous hits, “6807” and “Centaur, Centaur and It’s Freezing. “Both were recorded and engineered at Echo Mountain Recording, in Asheville, NC, and are proving to become musical breakthroughs. Garlic City is currently working on the release of its debut album, as well.

Needless to say, this Saturday’s event will be an extremely unique and cost-effective way to enjoy a few spirits, while listening to some of the best local music around the greater Charlotte and Lake Norman areas—definitely a not-to-be-missed event.
