May 11th is Mother's Day, and if mom loves movies, then TCM has a book for you to buy them! The full name of the book is called, "Mom In The Movies: The Iconic Screen Mothers You Love (And A Few You Love To Hate) and it was written by Richard Corliss/ TCM. The publisher was Simon & Schuster, and there are 256 pages. The price of the book is $35.
TCM and film historian Richard Corliss made this book that looks at criminal moms (like the mom in "White Heat), eccentric showbiz moms, baddest moms of all, but don't worry they do look at the great moms like one chapter is called, Great American Moms, and another one is surrogate moms. So it's an even look at some of greatest mother characters to the most dastardly. Any mother who loves cinema, will get a kick out of this book.
The book was forwarded by real life mother and daughter duo, Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. The book is packed with photographs and film stills. It also has film essays written by actors, Jane Powell, Eva Marie Saint, Illena Douglas, and many others.
"Mom In The Movies," was released in April 8, you can buy it on Shop TCM.
