'This is the nation that does not listen to the voice of the Lord'

God speaks in many ways.

Always in the voice of Love, God speaks, quite often, through the Cross. Yet, this Cross is a language misunderstood from its inception, in the spoken Word of God in Jesus Christ, continuing in its misinterpretation even until today.

For the Word of the Cross is Mercy, reconciliation with God, and new Life; yet, the worldly only perceive it as a threat to their self-created illusion of freedom.

And that is where America is at today.

"This is the nation that does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the word itself is banished from their speech." Jeremiah 7:23-28

History tends to repeat itself, especially when people are ignorant of it.

The ancient Israelites abandoned God's Commandments and dabbled in pagan lifestyles, in effect, losing their purpose as a beacon of Light for the world. God allowed the pagan lords to take them into exile. The Cross was prefigured in this sad, but necessary, purification. The great Roman empire collapsed when the people became less interested in law, classical thought, and Pax Romana, and became fat and happy in a sloppy hedonism, allowing barbarians to breach their boundaries, tearing down a man-made civilization.

The combination of the two is occurring again today!

America has rejected the voice of God, in her Judaeo-Christian heritage, rejecting God's correction in a vibrant religious life, and the morality which guides her, and has chosen the voices of demons in secularization, socialism, and hedonism. Pagan lords, within, and without, are taking over! And the latest, and greatest empire, Pax America, has become increasingly bloated and lukewarm, overrun by illegals, radicals, and the uninformed...ready for the next great collapse.

"Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD who made us. For he is our God, and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides." Psalm 95:1-2, 6-9

The Judaeo-Christian remnant, the possible survivors of this faithless society, have two choices. We can conform and be absorbed by the herd, becoming lost like them in the darkness of postmodern absurdity. Surely we will become sheep among wolves, surely we will die without a trace of purpose.

Or, we can get on our knees and pray for America.

This will not guarantee America's temporal survival. But, like the remnant of the faithful in ancient Israel, it will plant the seed of Christ in those who invade us. Even if it is the seed of martyrdom. Also, like the monks at the time of the barbarian invasions of the Roman Empire, through prayerful activity, we can salvage the remnants of Christianity in the raging fire of demonic destruction.

If we choose the latter, we will have what is needed, in God's grace, to Rise after the Cross.

"Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Luke 11:14-23

The question is, are we for Christ in the inevitable Cross, or are we for 'the powers that be' in personal, temporal survival? Or better yet, are with Jesus in the Catholic Church that gathers, or are we part of the 'principalities and powers' that scatter?
