Boats in Alamitos Bay, Rainbow, and Shoreline Marinas will ready for races to Catalina. The winds will shift and big-wave surfers will load into cars for the 20-minute ride down Hwy 1 to The Wedge in Newport Beach as it climbs to a max height of 30 feet in the summer months.
This is the land of Snoop Dogg’s stomping grounds, regattas and hidden skate parks. This is the beach town equidistant from Catalina and the Los Angeles X Games. In the words of our most famous poet, this is “the city they call Long Beach.”
