This German shepherd is a hunk: Friendly dog needs a home now

Rod is a hunk! Someone please help to rescue this dog out of Baldwin Park.
Pat Gregoire

Meet Rod; isn't this German shepherd boy gorgeous? Described as friendly, and available to be adopted immediately, this two-year-old male, brown and black dog was picked up as a stray on August 21. It's hard to believe his family never came looking for him at the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in Baldwin Park, California.

Click here for Rod's PetHarbor listing. When inquiring about Rod, please reference A4748029.

Rod did have an interested adopter, however he never materialized. A note on Rod's record states as of Friday:

KILL DATE 9-9-14
He's listed as two years old.
He is not neutered. He was to be neutered on 8-29, but was declined since he's currently on 10-day meds for an upper respiratory infection.
He still is available.

Click here for the Facebook thread as volunteers and advocates pledge donations for an approved rescue and share Rod's story with friends, family and coworkers.

Sharing saves lives; it only takes one person to make that special connection with a dog in desperate need of rescue.

The following information is provided to help rescue Rod:
