Talia is a 13 year old girl who loves makeup, fashion, dancing, her family, doggie Bella and has been fighting cancer now for nearly 6 years.
Talia Castellano was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma on February 14, 2007. She was cancer free for 13 months but relapsed in Sept. 2008. Again she was cancer free for almost 2 years, but sadly relapsed a second time on August 13, 2010 and has now relapsed again for a third time on April 8, 2011. She will never give up and does not let multiple surgeries, hospital stays, lab tests, chemo treatments, experimental treatments or anything else get in her way of being simply AMAZING. She loves makeup and has her own YouTube channel, TaliaJoy18 and is an inspiration to many.
Talia's slogan is "makeup is my wig". As most cancer patients undergoing treatment hair loss is a factor and Talia shows her style and personality through her true colors with makeup and letting her inner beauty shine.
Talia's fame and attention to her battle has come through her YouTube channel where she shows makeup tips and applications through mini-makeup tutorials. She has also stayed true to spreading the need for blood donation to help others. This is where my attention is because her outer beauty is fabulose but more inportantly her inner beaiuty shines bright through and above all she endures.
Talia says: "I feel that makeup can make you feel beautiful". This is an outlook that we both share. You should always feel beautiful, because we all have something special to share with the world. Yet just the right lipstick or favorite beauty product can add a sparkle to everyone's smile.
Talia is one of many in need of blood but especially O negative. O negative is the universal donor so anyone can receive it, but those with O negative blood can only receive O negative blood. Giving blood is essential to helping save lives, Talia's story and inspiration helps to spread this message as well as her message of loving ones self. I personally donated blood for the first time last week, because of Talia's story and message of what a different donating can make in such a special persons life. The process is short and in a matter of thirty minutes you can help save lives.
