This Condition call it quits, announce farewell shows

This Condition, a pop-rock group based out of New York City, has announced they are breaking up after being a band for over six years.

An official announcement was posted via a special goodbye section of their website on Mar. 7:

It's not easy to write this message. We can't begin to express how grateful we are for the support that we have received over the past 6 years. Yeah... 6 years.

We played our first show in March of 2007 at a venue called Noche Blue on Long Island. We had no clue what we were doing or where this band would take us. Fast forward to 2013 and we have played more than 250 shows in 40 states. We've been lucky enough to open for some of our musical idols (Brand New, Ace Enders, Yellowcard), play festivals that we grew up attending (Bamboozle, Warped Tour, SXSW, CMJ), and play in some of America's most famed venues. It's more than we could ever ask for and it's been the driving force in all of our lives the entire time.

With every show, every venue, every fight, every breakdown (both van and mental), we grew up and grew together. What once was a group of boys became a family of brothers. We started as five: Nathan, Mike, Nicky C, Anthony and Steve. We struggled through the departure of Steve and Anthony and got lucky to find such talent in the additions of Devin, new Steve and Chris. Always, it was your support that allowed us to keep trying and keep making music.

From the beginning, we wanted for this band and our music to be an accepting, uniting and supportive world for people to be a part of. And it has exceeded our wildest dreams. We made most of our best friends through this band and, quite frankly, there is no place we feel more at home. You have truly become our family... The TC Family.

The love and support, the smiles, the energy of the community that has surrounded this band for the last 6 years has been truly transformational. And for that, we thank you.

It's not easy to write this message. This Condition, the band that plays shows, is ending. But the idea - The Love Only, The Family - is not. It can't. It is all too important.

The news shocked fans across the country but it was revealed that they will be headlining two final shows, Toquet Hall in Westport, Conn. on Apr. 19 and one at New York City's prestigious Highline Ballroom on Apr. 28. The band also announced a new record will be released on Apr. 23.

Fans have been posting all across the band's social media platforms to explain what the band, and the idea behind the group means to them.
