The award-winning alternative rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars will co-headline with Linkin Park in concert at the Hollywood Bowl on September 15, 2014 during their Carnivores Tour. Fresh off of their Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams tour, the band’s current and touring members - Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, Tomo Milicevic and Stephen "Stevie" Aiello - kicked off the Carnivores tour with Linkin Park in Palm Beach, Florida on August 8, 2014 in support of Linkin Park’s sixth album The Hunting Party (2014) and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ fourth studio album Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013). The tour is scheduled to conclude on September 19, 2014 in Concord, CA. AFI will open during the entire tour. Set lists will include various songs from the bands’ most albums.
Thirty Seconds to Mars was formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, CA by Jared Leto and his brother Shannon who had been performing together since childhood. They expanded the band to four members and has had its current configuration of three members and one touring member since Tomo joined in 2003 and Steven joined as their touring guitarist in 2013.
Their current release, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams finds the band experimenting with different instruments and drawing influences from a wider and more varied range of styles. The album mixes experimental instrumentation with elements both symphonic and electronic, and spawned the universal hit (in every sense of the word) “Up In The Air,” which debuted on March 18, 2013 from the International Space Station. In partnership with NASA, Thirty Seconds to Mars launched the first copy of "Up in the Air" aboard the Dragon spacecraft on SpaceX CRS-2. The mission was launched atop a Falcon 9 rocket on March 1, 2013, sending the first ever commercial copy of music into space.
Known outside of the music world for his movie star looks, Jared Leto’s creative genius extends to his successful film career. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2014 for his role in “Dallas Buyer’s Club” along with several other major awards and has received critical acclaim for his roles in “Prefontaine,” “American Psycho,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “Panic Room,” “Alexander,” “Lord of War,” and “Lonely Hearts,” among others.
