Me and Mi Kru, the popular Jamaican TV series featuring veteran artiste/producer, Benzly Hype will kick off its third season in April on Television Jamaica (TVJ).
The show, which will air Fridays at 9:30 p.m. following Entertainment Report, moves to TVJ after a two-year stint on CVM. According to Hype, economical issues delayed the airing of Me and Mi Kru as sponsors have been held back in recent times due to the current climate.
However, Hype promises to make Me and Mi Kru bigger and better than before, collaborating with prominent author/writer, Richie Drenz and fellow writer, Lisa Alveranga on the show's script.
Additionally, he said the show will talk more about his life while featuring more characters associated with the 1990s, as the show is largely based on that era, when Hype and his Innocent Kru rose to musical prominence.
Guest appearances on Me and Mi Kru Season Three include veteran recording artistes, Tanya Stephens and Spragga Benz as well as English-based Dancehall star, Gappy Ranks. Benzly Hype hopes to reach 2 million local viewers during this upcoming season a is working on a deal to have the show air in Japan.
Currently, Me and Mi Kru can be viewed on stations across the U.S., Canada, Spain and Africa.
