Who is Third Day?
Grammy award-winning Christian rock band Third Day was founded in Marietta, Georgia during the 1990s by lead singer Mac Powell, guitarist Mark Lee and former member Billy Wilkins. The other members of Third Day are bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr. The band has won four Grammy Awards since 2002 and some 25 Dove Awards in Nashville, and is now anticipating the October 19 release of their latest project Move, their 11th studio album.
Third Day - Lift Up Your Face
The 12-track album is being compared to the band’s 2000 Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year, Time record. The first single “Lift Up Your Face,” which features The Blind Boys of Alabama, has claimed more than 3.1 million impressions this week, is being played on 91 AC & CHR stations spinning and is No. 17 on the National Christian Audience Chart, No. 17 on the AC Monitored Chart, No. 20 on the AC Indicator and No. 17 at CHR.

Lead vocalist, Mac Powell says, “The country is going through hard times, and there are doubts and insecurity. The message [of ‘Lift Up Your Face’] is our message of encouragement – not just to listeners though—to us as well. It’s a message we all need to hear and I think that really sums up a lot of what we were going for with this record.”
