On March 8 and 9 2014, PawAbilities comes to the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA. The event goes from 9 AM to 4 PM each day. In its eighteenth year, PawAbilities is a chance for visitors to enjoy quality time with their dog and meet many other dog owners. A wide variety of activities will be available for dogs and their families.
One of the most exciting events taking place is the Dog Olympic Games. With over 20 events to choose from, the games are based on the skills expected of Susquehanna Service dogs. Individual games cost one dollar to enter, and for fifteen dollars visitors can get a day pass bandana. With such colorful names as “Snoopy Says” and “Dress ‘Em Up Relay” dogs and their owners are sure to have a blast!
Other PawAbilities events include a costume contest, cuteness contest, and even a dog treat contest. Visitors can bake their own treats and see how they fare in the eyes of the judges (service dogs). And these are just some of the many events going on at Pawabilities! Visit their website for a full list of events.
But that’s not all! Luis Carlos Montalván, the author of Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him will be stopping by for brunch on Sunday at 11 AM. If visitors would like to join him, tickets cost thirty-five dollars (PawAbilities access included).
Has the length of winter 2014 got your family down? Then just imagine how a dog feels. Check out PawAbilities for a fun family time! Single day tickets cost $8 for general admissions and $4 for children (4-12). Two day tickets cost $10 for general admissions and $5 for children. And don’t forget the dog!
