Remember these things when picking your special day
Now that the engagement has occurred , the ring has been purchased and the soon-to-be blessed event celebrated, let the planning begin! Here are some practicalities to deal with as you plan.
So you want to get married in June. Or July. Or maybe even September.
Would you like a 4:00 PM wedding? Maybe even a noon wedding?
Here are some practicalities to remember when picking your special day and time at locations throughout Orange County. Whether it be a church or other facility to hold your ceremony and/or reception, these factors are incredibly important to remember when choosing a date and time.
- Cost: The cost for renting your site can vary during prime wedding season to off-season. Prime wedding season, as defined by WeddingChannel.com, is from May-October of each year. Cost also varies at sites in the city during this time of year also. For example, the cost of having a wedding at Muckenthaler Cultural Center can vary from $500-$1,000 varying on whether it's in prime wedding season or off-season.
- Starting Time: Facilities may only hold weddings at certain times on certain days. There's always room for negotiation though, so speak to the wedding coordinator at the site you want to hold your wedding at a different time than what their policy dictates. You may be granted more leeway than you expected.
- Are you a member? Or a resident? Churches will very often welcome you and your future spouse to get married at their location, but may charge you more if you are not a member of their congregation. Having a reception at a private location such as a clubhouse may also require being an owner in the community. Terrace at Hillcrest Park discounts facility rates for residents of the city of Fullerton but charges non-residents roughly $300 more for use of the same facility.
A wedding doesn't need to be a fight-filled, stressful time. Remember these three points when planning your special day to be knowledgeable and book the best sites possible for your day.
