The Vero Beach, Florida area has so many different unique things visitors can do, making every vacation here an adventure. Some of the more popular resorts in the Vero Beach area include Disney’s Vero Beach Resorts, The Driftwood Inn and The Reef Ocean Resort.

Indian River County is known across the country for its mouthwatering citrus. This are is home to many groves offering a variety of citrus, including oranges and grapefruits. Learn more about the citrus community by visiting the Indian River Citrus Museum located in Downtown Vero Beach or visit Hale Groves for free samples and to purchase a lot of citrus and citrus-related products to take back home with you.

Experience a variety of recreational activities

Vero Beach offers a variety of recreational activities for those looking for something to do while on vacation. Visitors can run, bike or hike along the Pelican Island Jogging Trail, which takes you along the shores of the Indian River Lagoon. Diving is available just a few yards off shore where there are plenty of coral reefs. Plus, we cannot forget to mention the many different golfing opportunities that are available year-round.

There are also many different options when it comes to boating on the Indian River Lagoon and other area waterways. These options include taking guided cruises, launching your own boat, renting a boat and airboat tours. Deep sea fishing excursions are also available through local marinas.

Experience a new shopping adventure when you head to Orchid Island, just across the Indian River Lagoon from Downtown Vero Beach. This area offers unique boutiques and stores right along Ocean Drive. Other shopping options include the Vero Beach Outlets and the Indian River Mall.

There are many different dining options available throughout all of Vero Beach. Visitors can select from causal to fine dining and a variety of cuisine types, including Italian, Mexican and traditional American. See an island covered in pelicans at the Pelican Island Sanctuary which was dedicated by President Theodore Roosevelt. Remember you can watch, but you cannot touch the sea turtles as they nest right on the beaches throughout Indian River and Brevard counties.

The Orca Riverfront Conservation area offers 350 acres set along the Indian River Lagoon and the Archie Carr Wildlife Refuge is home to many of Florida’s best known animals.
