Last night, vegans and vegetarians of the Palm Beach County Vegetarian Society met in Boca Raton at Pine Garden to celebrate the birthdays of members who were born in August. A homemade chocolate cake was made for everyone's dessert and most everyone had a great time enjoying the vast vegetarian options Pine Garden offers.
On Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be the third annual Omega Dog Animal Adoption Fair to be held at War Memorial Auditorium located at 800 NE 8th St in Fort Lauderdale. This year, all the food at the event will be vegan offered by six vegan food vendors which are Inika Foods, Tofurky (Chorizo tacos), Johnny's Italian Ice, Veggie Xpress, Veggie Bungalo and B&B Healthy Treats.
The event is free and open to the public which will also include live music and entertainment the entire day, making it a nice family outing. It will also have information tables, exhibits, a silent auction and a large raffle for attendees. Guests are welcome to bring their dogs to the event, so long as they are leashed and well-behaved.
The Adoption Fair will have available animals from various area shelters and rescue groups - all have been 'fixed' and with their proper shots.
On Monday, August 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. the Palm Beach County Vegetarian Society will hold a Meatless Monday Meetup in Boynton Beach at Snapper's Restaurant. The evening will include a short presentation and discussion on Veganism followed by a meatless prefix dinner in the restaurant's Wine Room at $15 per person.

- Sally’s Shepard Pie – Soy Burger- Peas & Carrots – Tomato – Mashed Potatoes
- Meat Loaf – Vegetable Meat Loaf – Broccoli – Mashed Potatoes -Sage Gravy
